LegalTech 2011

January 31, 2011

This year’s conference started with a very relevant topic for Courtroom Insight.  Gabriel Buigas, VP and Deputy General Counsel at Hewlett Packard, opened the event and started a flurry of discussions about the inevitability of law firms moving data to the cloud.  It’s a crucial topic for legal service providers and fortunately the consensus is beginning to value the cost effectiveness over the current security and compliance concerns.  As the discussion surrounding cloud computing progresses, I think law firms will realize further benefits beyond cost savings and trepidations will continue to diminish.

I was also able to preview the new LexisNexis Expert Witness Profiles product.  The well-designed product highlights key information about experts using an intuitive interface that allows users to quickly and easily assess valuable information such as prior expert witness reports, deposition testimony and verdict/settlement results for cases in which experts testified.  The press release can be found here: LexisNexis Press Release and the product link here: LexisNexis Expert Witness Profiles.
