Expert Witnesses in the News
An interesting story on http://www.cnn.com today discusses a motion filed by prosecutors in the Dr. Conrad Murray trial attempting to ban two expert witnesses from testifying. The prosecution contends that some statements that the experts relied upon were obtained from conversations with Dr. Murray that were not supplied to investigators. As the article notes:
Los Angeles County District Attorney Steve Cooley and his deputies claim that it would be unfair to have these experts present analyses that use information from Murray that investigators never received — unless the primary source of that information, Murray, is first compelled to answer questions.
